Abstract :
The institutionalization of technology represents the degree to which the technology becomes a routine commodity within the organization. It is that point at which the use of the technology within the organization is so pervasive that it becomes the acceptable way of doing things. Once this occurs, the full impact of the technology is experienced by the organization and the technology becomes part of the organization´s processes. The author discusses the use of information technology within organisations and the characteristics of institutionalisation
