Abstract
It has been shown that dualband patch antenna design can be performed by tuning patch natural resonances by edge perturbation elements. An example of simple QPA tuned by L- and I-notches from 2.44/5.65 GHz to 2.44/3.5 GHz bands together with appropriate changes in radiation pattern has been shown. Drawback of the proposed approach is resulting narrowband behavior of the radiator due to the resonant natures of perturbation elements and patch itself.
