Abstract
Responses from one-dimensional magnetophotonic crystals (1D MPCs) terminated by gold layers have been studied experimentally. These MPCs supported an optical resonance (optical Tamm state-OTS) originating from periodicity of their lattices and the surface plasmons resonance (SPR) on gold films´ interfaces. Parameters of the crystals and experimental conditions were chosen such that OTS and SPR modes were excited simultaneously by light from a selected spectral range. Later was observed in spectra as an overlap of the resonances. Tuning the overlap by a variation in experimental conditions resulted in changes of measured optical and magneto-optical responses from the MPCs.
