Abstract :
Multidimensional (MD) model is the foundation for online analytical processing (OLAP) applications and data warehouses. To facilitate complex analysis and visualization, information is designed in the form of MD model. In last few years several MD model using object oriented approach have been proposed in the literature. These object oriented multidimensional models have considered different MD properties at conceptual level. In this paper we proposed to add some new object oriented multidimensional (OOMD) model properties in addition to already proposed OOMD model properties. These are (i) aggregated fact class (ii) junk dimension class (iii) abstract class (iv) concrete class (v) leaf class. The main structural properties of MD model are represented using Unified Modeling Language (UML) class diagram which allow specifying the whole system in a uniform way. We adopted UML because it has been majorly recognized as the standard object oriented (OO) modelling language, thereby designers do not need to learn a specific language for MD system. UML also consider the relevant structural MD properties in an easy and simple way.
