Abstract :
Standardization of data formats is one key factor in enabling automation of a process. The IEEE P1450 family of standards has made significant contributions to standardization of test generation and data transfer. Currently there is no standard for test flow specification within STIL, and the test generation is mostly a manual process which is tedious, error prone and leads to suboptimal flows. IEEE P1450.4 is working to create a standard for test program flow specification to facilitate generation of automated tools which can then improve the efficiency of test program generation process. The proposed standard is an extension of IEEE 1450 STIL family of standards and is designed to work with other extensions of STIL. This paper will provide an overview of the proposed standard that is expected to enter ballot phase later this year.
