  • Abstract
It is widely agreed that it is necessary for organizations to embrace and exploit information technology (IT). The fast development and broad adoption of IT have brought new business opportunities. However, mismanagement and misconduct in adopting IT often hinder successful adoption. This paper examines the critical factors that have an impact on IT adoption. Building on IT literature, a model of IT adoption is developed. This paper is significant for both researchers and practitioners, providing a new tool for them in their efforts to better understand and improve the success to failure ratio of IT adoption.
