Abstract
Nowadays the demand of multimedia services in a wireless scenario is increasing astonishingly and accordingly the requirements of bandwidth and quality of services towards the users. The study of the different scenarios where the providers will be offering such services is required in order to be able to ensure the quality. One of the most promising and less studied scenario is railways environments, in particular in tunnels. A tunnel is expected to be a multipath environment and so a natural solution for high rate communications is a MIMO system. In this paper the performance of a MIMO system is presented by means of a set of EM simulations of the channel matrix of the propagation inside tunnels.
