  • Abstract
Agnosies visualles is a characteristic early stage symptom of Alzheimer´s disease, which is a primary degenerative disease, and has been named the disease of the century. Elucidation of the mechanism of this symptom, which causes a dysfunction in the posterior association cortex at the center of the parietal lobe, is important for the understanding of the pathophysiology of Alzheimer´s disease. So the authors investigated eye and head movements, using newly developed technology. The results showed that in Alzheimer´s disease, there is little head movement compared to eye movement, and there seems to be a general dysfunction in the disorganized coordination system. And these results indicate a problem in the coordinate axes, confusion in the input information, abnormality in the integration, and a disorder in the parallel processing mechanism
