Abstract
Antennas made with dielectric membranes rigidized with pressurized gas are taking a ground in practical applications. Variety of applications will broaden when inflated antennas are wisely integrated with platforms carrying them. The antenna integration prefers thin profile and conformal structures. However, antenna arrays are much more challenging to be developed in a form of inflated structures than wave reflecting surfaces. To develop complete feeding networks with the same technology as thin-membrane antenna elements are made, a lot of inventiveness is required. This paper presents transmission lines and discusses problems related to microwave couplers made entirely with thin membranes and rigidized with pressurized gas.
