Abstract :
Semantic matchmaking plays an important role in Web services matchmaking. However, most proposed semantic matchmaking approaches in web services discovery were based on description logic (DL)´s subsumption reasoning, which had the deficiency of low precision. This paper first presented a simple and efficient semantic distance calculation method, then proposed a new Web services matchmaking approach with enhanced semantic precision based on this semantic distance calculation method. The enhanced matchmaking approach adopts the DL reasoner as the first filter to get the rough services set, then uses the semantic distance of concepts in domain ontology to refine the matchmaking result. To reduce the calculation complexity of matchmaking, the semantic distance calculation of concepts is guided by the result of semantic subsumption reasoning. The prototype and experiment show the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed approach
