  • Abstract
Bluetooth is a standard for low cost and low power communications between various devices. Currently Bluetooth specifications support raw bit rates of up to 1 Mbit/s. In this paper we propose two techniques to increase the bit rate of a Bluetooth system with minimal architectural changes. The first technique is to transmit GFSK at twice the normal rate and then use a DFE at the receiver to remove the ISI. The second technique is to transmit 8-DPSK modulation at 2/3 of the normal rate.
