  • Abstract
Within the framework of a functional model of areas of the primate brain involved in visuomotor behaviors, we present a schema for object recognition based on a hierarchical process. Neuroscience hypotheses regarding the connectivity and mutual projection between cortical areas are validated through the implementation of the model on a real robot. Multimodal integration including visual processing and object weight estimation allows to obtain high recognition performances.
