Abstract
Digital PID compensator for the coupled inductor boost converter is proposed and designed in this paper. Mathematical models are formulated, using state-space averaging technique, and then discrete compensator is designed using digital redesign approach. Salient features of the coupled inductor topology are compared with the conventional boost topology. Compensator design is validated, through simulations, when the converter is subjected to disturbances such as source and load fluctuations. For demonstration simulation and experimental results are presented for 12 V, 15 W converter system.
