Abstract
This year of 1993 commemorates the 20th anniversary for the world first practical application of a liquid crystal to the display for use in an electronic calculator. By breaking through many technical barriers and by utilizing cutting edge technology, liquid crystal industry has created new type of products never existed before, there by, has generated new markets and demands. This paper describes the technical issues that have to be resolved for the liquid crystal industry to continuously grow and the future prospects of the industry.<>
