Abstract :
The paper proposed a system approach to synthesize the broad bandwidth of a multiple antenna system that supports multiple radiation modes. The concept is demonstrated with the example of a pair of closely coupled dipoles. The approach shown can be extended and implemented by arrays with 4 or more elements. The associated mode dispersion in the radiation patterns may not be a serious concern in a wireless communication scenario with rich scatterings.
