Abstract
Melexis is a developer and manufacturer of microelectronic integrated systems. It has developed patented and highly integrated magnetic sensor actuators for the control of 2 phase brushless DC motors. This paper reviews the application parameters, historical implementations of control circuits and recent advances in applying CMOS SoC solutions. Application to rotary cooling fans is emphasized.
