Logo recognition in video stills by string matching

We address the problem of recognizing trademark logos in video stills. The recognition task requires reliable methods for logo detection and classification. Here, we explore the possibilities to perform logo classification by template matching. In particular, strings extracted from logos in a video still are matched with template strings extracted from the original logo pictures. Experiments performed on a sport video demonstrate the performance of the proposed string matching technique.
