  • Abstract
    The end coupling between the 1-D DR-based CRLH TL and a NRD guide has been proposed and investigated for impedance matching. Numerical simulations confirmed that the impedance matching can be realized for both the balanced and unbalanced CRLH TLs with the NRD guide feed. A leaky wave antenna based on the 1-D CRLH TL fed by NRD guide was designed, and the numerical and measured radiation patterns are used to verify the leaky backward wave propagation along the designed CRLH TL structure. The evanescent-mode CRLH TL has potential as a low-loss circuit in the millimeter-wave region and beyond.
