Abstract :
This paper introduces a new kind of mosaic, called tile image mosaic (TIM), where image tiles of arbitrary shape are used to compose the final picture. The generation of a tile image mosaic is a solution to the following problem: given a primitive image and a set of arbitrarily-shaped image tiles, render the primitive image as accurately as possible with tiles of similar color to the primitive image. The method is inspired by Jigsaw image mosaic (JIM), and successfully solves two important problems: higher computation time and unable to perform complex image.
