Abstract :
In this paper, we propose a novel absolute trigger for wavelength availability advertisement in the optical wavelength-routed networks, i.e. wavelength state difference based trigger (DT). The existing triggers do not consider whether the wavelength availability state is changing from free to busy or from busy to free. But these two kinds of changes do not affect the routing in the same way which is neglected in the previous works. DT takes this into consideration. We evaluate the existing triggers and our triggers by means of simulation. Results show that DT outperforms the other absolute triggers.
