Abstract :
The packet loss is an important QoS parameter in network, and its behavior affects network dynamics. In this paper, a discrete model of packet loss that behaves nonlinear dynamics in TCP-RED network is developed. The bifurcation dynamics of the loss with several parameters-exponent averaging parameter (w), number of connections (n), TCP-RED parameter (pmax) , are plotted. The numerical results show that it can make the packet loss stable for QoS sensitive applications effectively to decrease the averaging parameter w, increase the connection number n or increase the TCP-RED parameter pmax, and the inter-influences of these parameters lead to the nonlinear dynamics behavior of loss.
