Abstract :
In this paper we describe a home automation concept which uses a PC to control a mobile robot, from which, the multiple home appliances attached to our wireless electrical switch board may be turned on or off. The PC hosts a Java program that communicates wirelessly with a mobile robot using the ZigBee protocol and shows a live video feed from a wireless camera on the robot. The robot receives commands from the PC and it then sends instructions to turn on or off the switches wirelessly. The switch board is built from basic electrical components, a wireless receiver and a microcontroller. Power is supplied from the wall socket directly through a transformer.
