Abstract :
Transmission of terahertz pulses in DC glow discharge plasma was investigated. Experiments were performed at various discharge currents and moderate pressures. The analysis of the experimental results shows that the transmission of the terahertz pulses through the plasma is dependent on the polarization of the wave with respect to the electric field within the plasma. As a result the transmission decreases as the pressure decreases for p-polarization (perpendicular to the plasma DC electric field). However, for s-polarization the transmission spectrum was not affected.
