Abstract :
The photomixing technique is applied to the sub-THz spectroscopic system with a continuous wave multimode laser diode (CW-MLD) to extend the spectral range. In the Fourier spectrum of the signal waveform a new broad component is found to appear in the higher frequency region of 0.5-1.0 THz by mixing the light from the CW-MLD with light from a continuous wave single mode laser diode. This result enables us to extend the frequency range of spectroscopy up to about 1 THz.
