Abstract
We have applied the terahertz time-domain spectroscopy (THz-TDS) to Histological imaging of experimental cancer samples which included the prostate cancer and normal tissues, muscle and skin. We measured THz absorption spectra and THz images of the sliced samples. We found that the THz absorption of the cancer is smaller than that of normal tissues. Using THz absorption imaging we can distinguish between the cancerous prostate tissue and normal tissues. THz-TDS is, therefore, a promising method for histological imaging of the cancer tissue.
