Abstract :
This paper presents a model that will be useful in assessing the efficacy of 3-D beamforming approaches for single room indoor radio applications. It uses this model in an application using Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM). OFDM reduces the number of receiver equalizer taps to one per band. Simulations of the proposed model and several processing schemes (single antenna-EQ, fixed beamformer-EQ, and adaptive beamformer-EQ) are also provided for a realistic OFDM downlink network. Results of these simulations indicate the model is suitable for the evaluation of transmit/receive approaches being proposed for the indoor application.
