Abstract
In this paper, we introduce an automated toolbox for the design and analysis of Lattice Wave Digital Filters (LWDF), using explicit formulas from L. Gazsi [1]. LWDF is a filter structure that consists of two all-pass sections [2]. Lattice wave digital filters are well known for its simple structure and ease of VLSI implementation. Explicit formulas are developed using MATLAB for designing lattice wave digital filters for Butterworth, Chebyshev, and Cauer parameter (elliptic) filter responses. This toolbox is mainly intended to design and analyze lowpass and highpass filters, which will remove the serious hindrance when the designer is not familiar with the techniques of the classical network theory. We automate the transfer function computation by deriving directly from the explicit formulas [1] using MATLAB scripts. These MATLAB scripts can calculate the 1st order and 2nd order all pass filters proposed in [1], which can be used to generate any kind of Butterworth, Chebyshev or Elliptical filters.
