Abstract
In this paper, we are going to present a data dissemination protocol for wireless multimedia sensor networks (WMSN). The proposed protocol entitled as MLAF (Multimedia Location Aided Flooding) is used for packet dissemination in WMSN. MLAF considers network as a virtual grid. Depending on its geographical position, each node is placed in one of network cells. We prevent sending redundant packets, and as a result, network´s consumed energy will be reduced. Proposed protocol considers priority for traffics. Depending on packet´s priority, MLAF makes decision about its routing. Consumed energy and end to end delay are two main parameters in protocol design. The proposed protocol uses LAF as base. Different aspects of MLAF efficiency have been evaluated. Performed simulations show that MLAF has achieved all of its goals.
