Abstract :
Recent work on highly integrated silica-based thermo-optic PLC-switches is reviewed. N×N switches (up to 16×16), 1×N switches (up to 1×128), 8×8 and 128×128 switching sub-systems, a monolithic optical add/drop multiplexer and related reliability tests are described.
