Abstract
Fixed frequency operation of the series resonant converter is desirable because it allows the size of the transformers and reactive filter components to be minimized. The output characteristics of the converter operating at arbitrary fixed frequency and variable switch duty cycle in steady state are found by phase plane analysis. Solution for all modes occurring above resonance and the most important modes below resonance are found analytically in closed form. The results are verified experimentally.
