Abstract :
An edge-based contrast enhancement method is demonstrated on cardiac X-ray images. A wavelet generated multiscale gradient representation provides the framework for applying various image gradient transformations at different scales in order to emphasize features of certain sizes. Noise magnification can be controlled by choosing the appropriate transformation at the scales where noise is more prevalent
