Abstract :
Summary form only given, as follows. This paper presents a design for a monolithic Field Emission Display (FED) with mirror reflective surfaces on the anode, which radiates the light from the phosphor toward the viewer, and in the direction of the electron flow bombarding the phosphor. The emission sources can be of any design, such as gated microtips, vertical thin-film edge emitters, gated lateral thin-film edge emitters, thin-film flat emitters with low work function or negative affinity, surface conducting electron emitters or metal-insulator-metal field emitters.
