Abstract
We show that a discretization of the Magnetic Field Integral Equation (MFIE) in Method of Moments (MoM) with the Monopolar RWG basis functions follows much more closely the RCS pattern due to EFIE than the Linear-Linear basis functions, a first-order divergence-conforming set. Since, for a given meshing, the monopolar RWG and the Linear-Linear sets produce the same number of unknowns, this is a fair comparison. We present also a novel monopolar Linear-Linear discretization of the MFIE performing in a very similar manner as the monopolar RWG, which shows the robustness of the monopolar discretizations for the MFIE.
