Abstract :
The experimental validation of the design approach in V. Natarajan and D. Chatterjee (2005) is reported here for the first time for electrically thick substrates. One of the main purposes of this investigation is to validate the design of U-slot elements for application to wideband microstrip phased arrays. The scope of the initial results presented here is limited to single wideband U-slot and rectangular patch elements on finite ground planes.
