Abstract :
In this paper we use terahertz spectroscopy to study the effects of the peroxidase-conjugated affinipure goat anti-cat IgG and the fluorescein-conjugated affinity purified goat anti-cat IgG when they interact with the polar liquids (mixture of water and glycerol). The complex permittivity was measured over the frequency range 0.2-1.2 THz. The frequency dependence of the dielectric properties of the polar liquids was strongly affected by the presence of the antibody. Therefore terahertz spectroscopy may be useful for medical diagnoses where the presence of antibodies is indicative of disease.
