  • Abstract
The Fuel Transfer System (FTS) has been developed to transfer new nuclear fuel assemblies or spent nuclear fuel assemblies during the refueling of pressurized water reactor between the RX and KX. This paper summarizes the mechanical structure of the system in the whole. Considering the safety and reliability for the high radioactivity environment, we propose a distributed control system with two levels of hardware controllers and module hierarchical software architecture to meet the demands of the system. In order to make the motion more stable, the PID parameters can be adjusted with the changed loads and different zones. Furthermore, the relative experiment and results are shown to demonstrate its performance.
