Abstract
The development of temperature on-line monitoring techniques for 110 kV and above XLPE power cable gives a strong support to power cable load dynamic adjustment. The surface temperature of power cable is depended on the current and voltage in cable conductor and other cables nearby. The relationship between the surface temperature of power cable and current in cable conductor can be described by thermal circuit model. The cable load can be adjusted dynamic to prevent overheat of insulation by thermal circuit model based on surface temperature online monitoring to prevent and prolong the life of cable operation.
