Abstract
This work presents experimental results obtained from the electrical degradation of fiberglass distribution line poles. Four types of accelerated aging tests, including single-stress and multistress aging tests, were conducted for various fiberglass samples. Clean fog, salt fog, and 25 kV AC voltage were the aging stresses in these tests. Samples with different surface conditions were also tested in each type of accelerated aging test in order to evaluate the effect of surface conditions on the electrical degradation of fiberglass distribution line poles. The electrical degradation of fiberglass samples is discussed and analyzed through experimental results obtained from the electrical evaluation tests before and after the accelerated aging tests.
