Abstract :
The presented is a design of digital time optimal sliding mode control for a hard disk drive servo system with damping. A proximate time optimal switching curve is adopted and prediction method is proposed for the sliding mode design. Smooth phase transition from track seeking to track following is achieved by the proposed approach.
