Abstract
In this study, we report the difference of adsorption properties between organosilane molecules and PFPE Zdol lubricant molecules to amorphous carbon surface with respect to the exposure time of the carbon surface to air. It was found that the optimum and efficient exposure time for the formation of the organosilane monolayer exists. On the contrary, the bonded portion of PFPE Zdol molecules on the carbon surface gradually decreased with exposure time of the carbon surface to air since the bonding sites for PFPE Zdol molecules were terminated by various oxygen groups and contaminants.
