Abstract :
The purpose of the US Air force Directorate of Management Sciences is to provide a source of operations research expertise for the Headquarters, Air Force Logistics Command (AFLC). Eight projects of the Directorate are briefly reviewed. The projects discussed are: the development of an aircraft availability model; the weapons system management information system; depot repair/modification funding allocation; engine pipeline analysis; combat databases; modeling reliability and maintainability improvements; evaluation of aircraft spare parts forecasting techniques; and development of an aircraft availability maintenance model
