A description is given of the program of Honeywell Bull Incorporated to revitalize its engineering environment. The program has four components: technical education, technical ladder, a lean management organization, and career development. Following a brief description of these components, the authors focus on implementation strategies and tactics, including how to anticipate and overcome organizational resistance
