Abstract :
The general architecture of the LNLS (Laboratorio Nacional de Luz Sincrotron) accelerator control system is presented. The system is mostly based on 8-b microprocessors and can be made compatible with the VME standard. The computing and communications hardware, software and data banks, and execution-level aspects are considered
