IEEE NMDC 2012 Welcome Message

The 2012 IEEE Nanotechnology Materials and Devices Conference (IEEE NMDC 2012) aims to develop critical assessment of existing work and future directions in nanotechnology research including nanomaterials and fabrications, nanoelectronics, nanophotonics, devices, and integration. This conference brings together key researchers from all over the world and from many sectors of academy and industry in the nanotechnology research field, with a special focus on materials and devices. It is the ultimate goal of IEEE NMDC to become a leading conference in the world in advocating novel electronic and sensing devices using advanced nano-materials. For this year´s conference, we have specifically focused on the following topics in our technical program: 1) Graphene and Nanotube Based Materials and Devices; 2) Materials and Devices for Nanoelectronics, and Nano-Optics; 3) Materials and Devices for Bio-Medical Applications; 4) Bio-Fluidics and Integrated Bio-Chips; 5) Materials and Devices for Energy and Environmental Applications; 6) Characterization and Simulation of Nanomaterials and Nanostructures. IEEE NMDC 2012 began to accept abstract submissions and invited session proposals in May 2012. After careful considerations, the technical program committee decided to accept 10 invited session proposals and about 30 regular papers for oral presentation. In addition, we have invited 7 renowned researchers from both academics and industries to give plenary and keynote lectures at the conference.
