Abstract :
The high temperature operation of power conversion systems would result in a higher heat rejection temperature for the thermal management system resulting in a reduction in the size of the thermal radiators and decreasing launch weight and cost for space applications. The design and operation of a PWM buck DC/DC converter from room temperature to 200°C are reported along with supporting experimental results. The effect of temperature on efficiency of power conversion as well as on active and passive component losses is also discussed
