Abstract
Much effort has been spent achieving more output and smaller package sizes while trying to improve efficiency of PMDC motors. This has resulted in the need to use higher energy materials. Frequently, this leads to reduced commutation efficiency, greater EMI and reduced life. This paper will define the problems, examine the performance and recommend functional solutions for optimized design.
