Abstract
This paper presents the generalization of the “switching regions method” for controlling voltage fed three-phase inverters. Starting from the IFAM proposal (improved field acceleration method), this new method allows better control of the direct and in quadrature components of the voltage vector (in field coordinates). Only information previously available in IFAMs are required. Simulation results for the proposed method are presented, showing the possibility of switching frequency reduction and modifying harmonic contents of stator current
