Abstract :
Szendro Fire Department is located in the northeastern part of Hungary. The main task is to fight against wildfire and mitigate the impact of fire at the Aggtelek National Park - which belongs to the UNESCO World Heritage list. In 2004 the Fire Department started a project named Integrated Vegetation Fire Management (IVFM). The IVFM consist of two main parts: Peripheries and Modules. The Dynamic Decision Support System belongs to the Modules, which is based on a special unmanned aerial vehicle named robot reconnaissance aircraft (UAV-RRA). The Decision Support System is based on remote sensing. Szendro Fire Department made last years some real fire experiment supporting the reconnaissance by UAVs. The results strong it this tool can be very useful and effective in the future.
