Abstract :
In this paper, an insulation system with high thermal conductivity (HTC) without changing the main wall thickness or the slot design is presented. This offers significant reduction in thermal gradient in the insulation resulting in less thermal stress and higher efficiency of the machine without any basic generator design changes. This means that the long term reliability of the generator operation is ensured.
