Abstract
A discussion is presented of the use of spreadsheet personnel computer programs in solving two- and three-dimensional potential problems and other complex problems for homework as part of an electromagnetics course. Solutions to the Laplace equation using the finite-difference method are noted. Accuracy problems due to over-relaxation in three-dimensional problems are also considered
